BioRails Cascade

The organisation and execution modules of BioRails are combined to provide a request fulfilment solution.

Requests - Project teams drive the research process by submitting 'request items' to service queues.

Fulfilment - Laboratory managers review their queues in order to organise research activities in the most efficient manner to deliver results back to the requesting project teams for decision making.

Tracking - to make a request for work a list of request items (usually compounds, libraries or targets) is submitted to a collection of services (usually assays or studies) with a required date and priority. After submission the requester can track the status of the request and when complete, retrieve the results.

Integrative - This integrative solution works across existing information systems such as LIMS and ELNs supporting the scientists with tools for scheduling, planning and coordinating the workload amongst teams and individuals.

Cascade management - Project leaders can monitor progress of their requests and track the overall status of the research cascade. Smooth transition of requests and tasks between different teams and individuals reduces the overall time for decision making increasing productivity and efficiency of the overall process.

The Request fulfilment and workflow product is being launched as a new product called 'BioRails Cascade'. We are working with a multinational pharmaceutical company to deliver the first system which will be in production at the start of 2010.
